Maddie's First Broken Bone :)

I never thought she should actually be slowed down... but she can! All she needs is a little cast and a sore leg. Poor girl. She jumped out of her crib (which she does every day multiple times a day) and this time she landed badly, there were lots of tears... and then dad got to work figuring out "what hurts." It appears to be her right foot. So I make sure I watch her all morning, and all morning she refused to walk on her right foot. I didn't want to overreact with her, but after a few hours, and a very agitated little girl I made the decision to call my good friend Megan to see if she could watch Wilson for me. I got the kids ready, and I was still second guessing my decision, but as soon as I put her shoes on she SCREAMED, and SCREAMED. It was so sad!
To make matters worse, she thought I wouldn't take her "bye bye" if she took her shoes off, so she screamed, I told her to take her shoes off while I got Wilson ready and she cried, "No Mama! Maddie Bye Bye!" She thought if she took her shoes off I wouldn't take her with me... poor Maddie!! Here are some pictures of our adventure. The radiologist found a green stick fracture, and a spur on her heel. He thought it was developmental, and our ER doctor said she thought it was abnormal, and wanted to have us see our family doctor, do another round of X-rays and check for more calcium deposits on the fracture. If they find more calcium on the next X-ray she gets a hard cast... Yuck!
Her Wheelchair :)
Birthday Present Shopping with Dad...Swimsuit!!

Stuck!! At least that is what she kept telling us...
Still looking cute with her hair all did

That's right, Diva style!
While Maddie and I were off at waiting patiently at the ER, Wilson happily slept for almost 3 hours at Megan's house. When he awoke, he had a FRIEND!! These pictures are priceless, and every time I see them I laugh out loud!! Here are the adventures of Wilson and Sam!!

Update on Maddie:
We had to have a second round of X-rays, and we are STILL waiting for the results to see if she needs a hard cast. We took her out of the soft cast, after her hours of screaming... we gave in. But she seemed fine! She was running, jumping, twirling... and it will look fine, but if she just walks she still favors her left foot, and hardly touches her right foot. We will find out more tomorrow. :) I am just really hoping she doesn't need a cast, because I will be in the Philippines when it is time to take the cast off!! Crazy!

  1. Michelle... I'm a little concerned that there's a smiley face next to the title. Poor baby girl... hope she heals fast!

  3. Poor Maddie!! I hope it's not serious enough for a hard cast. I'm glad she's feeling good enough to do her twirls :)
